How an engagement works

Every technology is different, but successful commercialization follows a consistent pattern. We follow these five steps whether we're assessing one invention or running a portfolio program. You'll always know where things stand and what comes next.

1Listen & scope

We start with a conversation about your technology, goals and constraints. We'll sign an NDA before you share anything confidential. Then we propose a scope with clear deliverables, timing and cost.

2Assess

We look closely at the technology: how mature it is, how strong the IP position is, where it fits in the market, what it competes with and what it may be worth. The result is a clear-eyed view of the opportunity, including the risks.

3Position

We work out which applications, which customers and which value story will connect. Then we write marketing materials that a busy industry reader will actually finish.

4Engage

We contact the companies, investors and partners most likely to act. We track every response and pass qualified, interested contacts to you.

5Close & hand off

We support term sheets and negotiations through to signature. Then we hand over everything we've built, including the contacts, the data and the materials, so your team keeps the momentum.

Ways to work with us

Model Best for How it works
Project A single technology or a specific question Fixed scope and defined deliverables, such as an assessment, a market study or an outreach campaign.
Program Portfolios and ongoing deal flow A set volume of work across many technologies, with regular reporting and one consistent point of contact.
Embedded Offices with backlogs, vacancies or new programs Gleam works as part of your team, on-site or remotely, for as long as you need the extra capacity.

What you can count on

Independence

We represent one side of a deal, never both. Before we take on a project, we check for conflicts with the other parties, and if we find one, we say so.

Confidentiality

Unpublished inventions and deal terms stay protected. We work under NDA and follow your disclosure policies.

Transparency

You get regular updates with real numbers: who we contacted, who responded and what happens next.
